I want to use Corel Draw, what do I need to know?
We recommend using the CorelDraw blank bleed templates in the downloads section.
Remember to use CMYK colours and export as EPS or PDF (all fonts converted to curves).
I want to use Illustrator, what do I need to know?
We recommend using the Illustrator blank bleed templates in the downloads section.
Remember to use CMYK colours and export as EPS or PDF (all fonts converted to curves)
What is CMYK or RGB?
CMYK stands for Cyan Magenta Yellow Black. The CMYK colour model is based on printing and ink absorbing into paper. To gain the greatest number of printable colours, from the fewest number of inks, CMYK colour printing is used. By using varying amounts of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black, a great number of colours can be printed. Most full colour printed materials, magazines, posters, packaging, are printed using just the 4 CMYK inks. Here the level of ink is measured from 0% to 100%. As an example, orange would be represented by 0% Cyan 50% Magenta 100% Yellow and 0% Black.

RGB stands for Red Green Blue and are the colours used to create colours on TV's / monitors etc.
'Bleed' and why its important!
Bleeds enable you to print right to the edge of the paper. To create your own bleed template make your work area 3mm bigger around the outside and draw a border, this is where the guillotine will chop your job.
Always force your design over the bleed area if you want to print to the edge.
What software should I use?
This is up to you. We recommend using a vector based software like Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, Quark etc. If your software can export to PDF/EPS (fonts converted to curves) or TIFF this is fine. It is recommended that you work in CMYK colours as the colours may change slightly when we convert to this.
What is a 'Proof'?
A proof is a sample of what your printing will look like. Based on this you give us the go-ahead on a job. A proof is usually e-mailed to you or sent as a hard copy.
How do I approve a 'Proof'?
Simply click the APPROVE button when viewing the proof you wish to approve for printing.
How many DPI (Dots per Inch)?
600DPI is 600 pixels/dots per inch or approx. 236 pixels/dots per centimeter. So 236 pixels on your screen will convert to 1cm when printed.
What stock (/paper) do you print on?
As we specialise in full colour printing, it is recommended to use white stocks. However this is up to you. Please request a quote if you require speciality stocks.
How long do I have to wait for my printing?
Most printing takes approx. 4-6 working days.
Can I see a hardcopy before the print?
Yes, we can send you a press mimic proof up to A3 size. This costs $20. You must request this, as we usually e-mail proof's.
